HORIZON IS OVER!

The webpage remains up as a permanent archive of game material, mainly for the benefit of nostalgic players - although if you'd like to run a Horizon-inspired game for your friends, that's wonderful too. Horizon will be succeeded by Legacyin Trinity term of 2006.

If you like you can look at the (sketchy, incomplete) GM notes as well.

Verachtlich

He is the god of hatred and loathing.

Verachtlich is rarely freely worshiped, but he is present in all, feeding like a parasite off his followers' anger and rage. He delights in their torment, their anguish. In turn he causes accident to befall those who his followers direct their contempt onwards, but exacts a terrible price. His followers will become slowly more twisted with hate and loathing for all around; eventually, they take their own life or try to take the lives of those they once loved and all others around them.

He is the patron of murderers, serial killers and madmen. He whispers to his followers, slowly increasing their hatred and as the hatred grows his voice becomes louder until they are but empty shells of wrath at his command, which he manipulates to spread his seed.

Rumours

It is told his barge is a black citadel full of the screams of tortured souls.

He possesses those consumed by hatred, and traps their souls upon his barge.

I heard he send his avatars after those who are happy and content, as he hates them the most.

Rumoured avatars

The Wrath: It is said that this thing was once a man with a beautiful daughter, until she was killed in the park by a masked figure who ran off into the night. For years he searched for this figure and eventually found him, but his death did not satisfy the man's quest for justice and so the voices told him to punish all those who could have stopped the murder. He now is known only as the Wrath, he prowls the street at night in a hooded rode randomly pursuing and then stabbing anyone he encounters in his quest for justice.

The Butcher: Is said to have been abandoned as a child due to a facial deformity, and for that reason was latter unable to get employment. He grew up with contempt of all non-deformed persons; this rage has driven him to become the Butcher. He searches the city for "normal" persons, particularly those in high society, drags them down to his lair in the subway vents and deforms them with his axe so that they may suffer as he has.
