For aeons the Old Gods have been imprisoned, trapped away from their places of power, their divine rulership over Creation usurped by pretenders. For millenia they have waited, impotent and raging, whilst those New Gods born during the Iron Rule have had to lie low and avoid the attention of the Gods of the Iron Laws, their natural right to take their places in the family of Heaven denied them.

Then the Iron Rule began to fall. For a year and a day now, Creation has been unravelling. Mortal civilisation has crumbled. Signs and portents were everywhere. The Sun will not rise, the stars have left their appointed places and have been seen drinking in East London pubs, rivers have ceased running through sheer fear and now weep openly for the death of the world, dogs and cats form revolutionary committees to free themselves from the yoke of domestication. The Gods of the Iron Laws cannot hold on for long, for the Tools they have stolen in order to control Creation are beginning to break. All now expect the world to end. Only the return of the Universe's true rulers can save existence now.

Yesterday, the Gods were freed...

The GM team is Wart, Joe, and Bri, and can be contacted at gm_team@yahoogroups.com. Dan Hemmens acts as a consultant to the GM team, provided the first draft of the character generation and action resolution systems, and has provided all the other services you could possibly want a man in a trenchcoat and a fedora to provide. Lex has earnt our eternal gratitude for his important contributions when the game was being conceived, and for his encouragement.

This is not an Inheritance sequel in the slightest, but Wart will also like to thank the other members of that GM team for giving him his big break as a freeform GM, as well as providing useful issues to consider when designing this game.
