The Kingdom of Gur

This country is situated on the continentŐs east coast, neighbouring the plains of Ranna. The country is sparsely populated and is ruled by the shamen with secular power being appointed by them to those they deem worthy. Whilst this system might seem open to abuse the people of the land are by and large left to their own affairs and not overtly oppressed, the Shamen are all to aware of how badly outnumbered they are and in the past more than one corrupt shaman has been brought to book by the locals (with extreme prejudice).

All those who live in this country bear many strange tattoos which they claim bring them luck and the protection of spirits and are only too happy to share stories of their spiritual background, although since few travel this far and much is lost in translation to a more civilised tongue there is still little known about their beliefs.

The country's two main cities are Guramaal in the hills to the south-west of the country and the fishing town of Hghamaal. Neither city is particularly architecturally stunning, being made largely of wood and both are also not particularly large. However, this land is still far more civilised than the marshlands and dark forests further south where humanity is even more sparse and extremely hospitable, whereas within the lands of the Shaman-King hospitality is an almost sacred duty - what these people lack in luxuries, they make up for in warm welcomes and an extremely strong set of local beverages.
