The Ocean

Below in the darkness lies the oceans. They are dark, and mysterious, no one knows all that is hidden beneath there depths.

The ocean is continuous and unchanging; the tide went in and out twice a day before the gods created man and will go in and out twice daily after the last man has fallen.

They care little for humanity as it is small and quick to die.

The oceans from their dark depths have brought secretes to the world. They also symbolise their unstoppable raw power, to that end they can destroy towns, sink ships and kill thousands.

In humanity they symbolise secrets and deceit, like the stars they also symbolise some degree of order and organisation however in there case it is more rhythm and receptiveness.

Those with ocean ancestry tend to dark and secretive often being hooded to disguise any emotions. They are also thorough and determined usually perusing their desire no matter the cost.

Persons who pursue the ties with the ocean will become shadowy wraiths secretly moving around with a single purpose in mind. It will also lead to the development of flaps of skin around the neck and between there fingers and toes this also leads in part to there concealment of there appearance from the outside world. They will hear calls from the sea growing stronger as they become more connected with the sea eventually the calls become too strong and they enter the sea never to return.

The ocean has many mysterious daemons and monsters beneath its depths; these daemons are often very large (some 50m in length) with many tentacles and teeth. However, many do not care about those that live on land and ignore them, however some will rise to the surface and drag ships down to the depths for their own collection.

Some occasionally will go onto the land in revenge if they are disturbed say by waste being dumped on there home or being attacked by a harpooner. If they do go onto the land they will destroy all that they encounter. Leaving a trail of death and destruction.

Most of these monster are in the treacherous lands however some may have crossed into the true lands when they where young via a large river passing under the wall.

The river has a strong barred gate however this has deteriorated through time and lack of maintenance.

The ocean is often strongly worshiped by sailors and fishing communities who prey for safety or a good catch. It is common practice for many large boats to have shamen associated with the ocean on the boat to ensure a safe voyage.
